Round Two Stakeholder Forum Workshops Update

Building on the valuable insights from last year’s first round of 13 case study workshops, which engaged 151 stakeholders, we are now moving forward with the second round as part of WP1. The initial workshops involved a broad range of stakeholders, nearly half of whom were farmers, providing crucial insights into the drivers and barriers of resilient farming from the unique perspectives of each case study. Additionally, these workshops helped us gather key learnings on the facilitation process, as well as the experiences of the facilitators in conducting their sessions.

The second round, as part of WP1, builds upon these findings. These workshops are focused on engaging stakeholders to envision the ideal resilient farm in 2050, considering factors such as inputs, labor, markets, services, and policies. Stakeholders are encouraged to explore this future farm through discussions and creative methods, including group exercises and drawings. To date, 10 of the 13 case study workshops have been completed, with the remaining sessions scheduled to conclude by the end of April 2025.

Stakeholder Engagement and Participation
Facilitator reports have been completed and uploaded for five of the 10 workshops held so far. These reports indicate that the five workshops have brought together 74 stakeholders, with 69% of them being farmers. The remaining participants include researchers, conference attendees, co-op representatives, agricultural advisors, feed company representatives, and agribusiness owners. These workshops have taken place in a variety of settings, including a feed factory, on farms, and at agricultural conferences. As the final workshops approach for this year, we look forward to gathering more insights into how we can further envision and support sustainable and resilient farming systems.
