The Circular Food Systems (CiFoS) team – part of the Earth Systems and Global Change Group at Wageningen University & Research – will be co-responsible for coordinating work package 6 “Re-design of circular food systems”. This work package will develop a novel suit of mathematical models to explore the resilience of European production systems under different climatic conditions, and mitigation and adaptation practices. The models will output new food systems redesigns within planetary boundaries, which will be used to develop a game to support participatory processes of roadmap development together with European stakeholders.

The Avileña Negra Ibérica is an autochthonous bovine breed, with a uniform black coat and medium to large size. It stands out for its ability to take advantage of very difficult environments with good productive yields, high fertility and very pronounced maternal qualities. It is a very long-lived breed and in which its functionality to travel long distances stands out, both in the practice of transhumance and in the use of the pastures where they are.
