100% Pasture-Fed Livestock – Re-Livestock Case Study Interview | Nikki Yoksall

Categories News

Re-Livestock is pleased to share an in-depth interview with Nikki Yoksall from the Pasture for Life Association, where she discusses the progress and impact of our 100% pasture-fed livestock case study. This project, in collaboration with Balbirnie Home Farms and 14 other farms across Northern England and Scotland, is exploring the effectiveness of mob grazing to sustain and improve cattle health and productivity on a fully grass-fed diet.

In the interview, Nikki highlights the benefits of mob grazing on soil and water status, explaining how rotating livestock through small, intensive grazing areas helps boost soil health, increase moisture retention, and support ecological balance. This approach is designed to enhance the soil’s structure, creating conditions that support more sustainable and resilient farming.

Nikki also addresses the potential of mob grazing to boost grassland productivity and aid in achieving the Re-Livestock goal of 100% grass-fed cattle. By keeping livestock on pasture year-round, farmers can improve forage availability, making this method a viable path toward fully grass-fed systems. Watch the full interview to learn more about these sustainable practices and their potential impact on livestock farming.
