OBJECTIVE
Feed is one of the main costs in pig production and has a significant impact on both production efficiency and environmental performance. In this context, precision feeding offers new opportunities to more accurately match the nutrient supply to the actual requirements of pigs. This improves efficiency and economic performance while reducing nitrogen and phosphorus excretion, lower feed waste and associated emissions. Ultimately precision feeding contributes to a more sustainable and resource-efficient pig production systems.
This webinar will explore the main concepts and recent advances in pig precision feeding, from technologies that monitor individual feed intake and animal growth to the dynamic diet formulation adapted to the needs of individual animals or groups. Research and practical experiences involving lactating sows and their offspring will be presented and their impact on economic, social and environmental sustainability will be discussed.

Carlos Piñeiro | Veterinarian, PhD from Meiji-Tokyo University and diploma from the European College of Pig Veterinarians. Director of ADA since its creation in 2000, contributing to the development of the strategy for the implementation of information management systems in livestock farming and derived services, as well as applied research services. Promoter of the internationalization of the company and its positioning as a relevant actor among the Academy, the Administration and the rest of the companies in the sector.
Eduardo López | Veterinarian from the Central University of Ecuador and Master in Swine Health and Production from the University of Lleida. He joined the team in July 2024 and performs veterinary technical and business development work at Nosia Life Sciences.
