An experiment to alleviate heat stress in dairy cattle heifers is being developed in Titaguas (Valencia, Spain).
The experiment included the installation of a shadowed area in an open pen. An automatic system, based on artificial intelligence image analysys (DeepFarm Techologies S.L.) was implemented to count assess the use of the shadowed area. The objective of this study is assessing wether the animals use the shadowed area and the impact of weather conditions on shadow use.
This experiment started in July ’23 and is expected to finish by the end of September ’23.
